A CCS Middle Math Teacher works within our middle school team to create a well-rounded, comprehensive math program following the approved curriculum scope and sequence. They will instruct 6th through 8th-grade students in math, including pre-algebra and algebra, by creating and implementing effective lessons in a safe and secure learning environment. The teacher will monitor student progress and maintain up-to-date records using the approved grade book software. The teacher will communicate regularly with parents and ensure they are aware of student progress toward grade-level expectations. All CCS teachers will integrate Biblical principles and perspectives that reflect the school's purpose to honor God in every class and activity.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate love for God and others

  • Agree to abide by the behavior and lifestyle that is consistent with the Biblical guideline of the Wesleyan Church
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Two years of successful classroom experience preferred
  • A valid Ohio Department of Education teaching license with the ability to teach Geometry

Responsibilities

  • Cooperate with the school board and administrator to implement all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
  • Design and implement daily and/or weekly lesson plans in alignment with the annual overview.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and the school’s Foundational Documents throughout the curriculum and activities.
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management in accordance with the school disciple policy to create a productive learning environment.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
  • Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do their best work.
  • Keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of student progress toward grade level expectations.
  • Understand and follow the procedures in place for responding to emergency situations.
  • Supervise and/or attend co- curricular and extra-curricular activities and outings as assigned by the administrator.
  • Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the administration.
